The Four Holy Gospels

October 18th - November 20th

The Four Holy Gospels is an exquisitely designed and produced edition of the four Gospels, published in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the King James Version Bible. This work features newly commissioned original paintings representing the four Gospel Evangelists, illuminated initial letters, and other embellishments and design elements. The artist responsible for the illuminations is Makoto Fujimura, our featured speaker at this year's Brehm Lectures on November 3 and 4. Mako is the founder of the International Arts Movement and has served on the National Council for the Arts. His art is on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, as well as a number of art museums in the US. The Four Holy Gospels stands in the historic stream of the beautifully hand-illuminated editions of the Gospels created many centuries ago. This exquisite and unique modern edition carries on a classic tradition, beautifully combining the words of the Gospels and original art, inspired by the text, and brilliantly executed for the glory of God. We invite you to join us for the lectures. Click here for more information.

Interested in seeing many of the original painting, illuminations, and pages in person? Our friends at Asuza Pacific University are hosting the only West Coast exhibit of the Four Holy Gospels from October 24 through November 21 in the Duke Art Gallery. For more information on the exhibit click here.

Much of the text and all images in this exhibit are courtesy of Crossways Publishing, publishers of the Four Holy Gospels and Makoto Fujimura, the artist responsible for the illustrations.
