New Release: Common Worship in Theological Education

Common Worship book coverWhat is the place of corporate worship in theological education? What are the expectations for seminary students who attend chapel? Is it to form their liturgical sensibilities with a particular tradition or style? Is it to provide a safe place to experiment and explore? These are some of the questions explored in the book Common Worship in Theological Education.

Common Worship in Theological Education edited by Todd E. Johnson, the Brehm Center Chair for Worship, Theology, and the Arts, and published by Pickwick Publications, addresses these questions and others that arise whenever a worship service is implemented in an institution of higher education. The book features voices from across the theological and educational spectrum about chapel in the setting of higher education.

This book developed out of a conference on seminary chapel hosted by the Calvin Institute for Worship. Supporting the book is this online resource page developed by the conference and Calvin.
