If all artistic endeavors are also community endeavors by nature of the artist/audience relationship, filmmaking is arguably the most complex artistic community endeavor of all. This project will seek to understand the collaborative communal nature of filmmaking by exploring two case studies (screenwriting and production), and as a result develop a manifesto for making films in a community that respects both people and the art.
