Summer Program in Orvieto, Italy
June 17 - June 29, 2008
The Brehm Center for Worship, Theology and the Arts at Fuller Theological Seminary is sponsoring a summer program with the School of Theology focused on early Renaissance art, devotion, music, and theology, in Orvieto, Italy.
Students will live and study in the vibrant hillside town of Orvieto, with classes
held in a historic Catholic monastery. The program includes daily course
gatherings, field trips to medieval and artistic sites in Orvieto, and day trips to various towns in Tuscany.
The graduate level classes,
capped to keep them both intimate and conversational, include Pathways to Prayer: Exploring Early Renaissance
Liturgy and Music with Dr. Clay Schmit, and Seeing Salvation: The Art of Devotion in Early
Renaissance Tuscany with Ms. Leah Buturain.
Come engage Renaissance art, music, and a contemplative rhythm of prayer, singing, and study in the beautiful city of Orvieto in the Umbria Region of central Italy. Experience medieval art and history first hand, and learn with experts in their fields while medieval culture surrounds you and saturates your soul.
