Chapel Arts Interns Named

07-08 chapel interns

The Fuller Seminary Chapel Arts Interns have been chosen for the 2007-2008 school year.  This is an exciting new program sponsored by the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts.  Ed Willmington, the Director of the Fred Bock Institute of Music, will serve as the immediate supervisor of these interns.  The six were chosen from a group of thirteen applicants.  Each one is a graduate student with a Worship, Theology, and Arts focus of their studies.  Their post-Fuller goals include leading worship ministries in churches to guiding a college or seminary chapel program.  The internship is designed to provide experiences in leading the Fuller Chapel services, while having mentoring and exposure to new resources and thinking regarding worship ministry leadership alongside their experience.  Please pray for these gifted people who are a part of this strategic new program!

National Seminary Chapel Meeting

Ed Willmington participated in a day-long meeting hosted by Todd Johnson, the Brehm Chair for Worship, Theology, and the Arts, and Ron Rienstra, a Fuller Ph.D. student.  The meeting was an important gathering of people who administer chapel programs in seminaries around the U.S and Canada.  This initial meeting was co-sponsored by the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts and the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship, and was held on the Fuller campus.  With representatives from a wide range of seminaries, such as Yale, Calvin, Southern Baptist, and Denver seminaries, the meeting served as an insightful first step toward networking resources related to modeling chapel experiences in a variety of seminary settings.  Seminary chapels provide an important model, as well as a spiritually formative aspect of seminary life and training.

Unique Resource Online

At the annual meeting of the Hymn Society of the U.S. and Canada, I reconnected with a good friend, Ken Bible.  Yes, that's his real and given name - BIBLE!  Ken has a wealth of experience and background in Christian music and publishing.  He also has a wonderful resource that I'd like to share with you.  Ken is not only a musician, but also a thoughtful writer of lyrics for new hymns and songs.  If you're looking for something new for a special theme or season of the year, Ken has something for you - whether it's Mother's Day or Epiphany!  If your church belongs to the CCLI licensing program, the use of Ken materials is absolutely free!  You only need to report your use of his lyrics - that's a good deal, too!  I'd encourage to look at Ken's resources at:
