The emergence of global digital culture is re-orienting the world. The Institute for Church and Contemporary Culture explores the implications for the 21st century church. This includes
assessing the effect technology is having and will have on worship
and community as they pertain to church.
Activities include:
• promoting the study of the church as it engages contemporary
culture in its myriad forms
• mapping significant trends in the church and culture
• assisting ministers and scholars in relating their educational
endeavors to the anticiapted needs of the church in emerging global culture
• encouraging involvement and fostering dialog about the role of creativity and cultural engagement in the church
• programs include course sponsored lectures, consultation, tours and research that is investigating the development of the church, in all its varied incarnations, in contemporary culture

Research
Fuller professors such as Eddie Gibbs and Ryan Bolger work with doctoral students to research the broad trends within the various church traditions embracing both traditional denominations and emerging movements. The resulting data assists curricula development and advances the mission of the Church in the world.

Artist in Residence: Barry Taylor (PhD, Fuller Theological Seminary) is a current artist in residence for the Brehm Center and an adjunct professor at here at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he teaches a series of spiritually innovative classes on music, film, and contemporary theology. In addition, Barry is an associate rector at All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills. He has coauthored two books, A Matrix of Meanings: Finding God in Pop Culture and A Heretic's Guide to Eternity.
